So after a fairly late Friday night I was up bright and early Saturday morning and right back into it!
I started by finishing of the young & in love layout from Friday night and then got stuck into my next one.
I tried out some glimmer screens for the first time recently and wanted to have another go. I have always loved this photo of Lil and Steven, taken back just before Sebastian was born at the beginning of December 2006. We were in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.
I have used crate paper with a few prima flowers and buttons from Laurens 'old lady' stash. The stitching turned out to be a bit of an unintended marathon but worth it in the end :)
I had a bit of a break midway through for lunch and a massage...the girls organise a massuse for Saturday and Sunday...she is a little lady with a mighty lot of power...I lost count of the number of knots she 'popped' across my shoulders by oh my it was good, very painful, but oh so good. I felt like I'd gone several rounds in the ring the next day but it was so good :)
I used a combination of pink and green threads and for some of the stiching lines I combined the two. I created my stitching lines with cutter bee piercing bugs. I love them :)
After the marathon I wanted to do something quick and easy (I was aiming for 9-10 layouts over the weekend, I made it to 8)
I have know what I was going to call a layout with this photo for years, ever since I first printed it 4 years ago so it was nice to finally get around to scrapping it.
I delved into my new Cosmo Cricket stash and used some sweet vintage embellies (flower and doily)...there's the link for everyone at the retreat who asked about them :), gorgeous, happy, yellow ribbon from a Kenner Road kit and Lauren's $1 (from blue bazaar) 7 Gypsies journalling stamp. I added the buttons and chippie bits later to finish it off :)
Look at my little baby Lilli, she's only 2 here. The girls used to set up the dolls and teds for outdoor tea parties like this so often on Saturday afternoons :)
Next up is my 'challenge' layout. I'd thrown the paint around on this piece of paper and put it to one side to dry. I was chatting with Meredith and Sue and I challenged Meredith to set me a challenge...she picked up my piece of paper with drying paint and suggested I scrap a layout on thie peice of paper....errr...I was planning on it LOL...too funny :) Let's just say paint isn't one of Meredith's usual go to's ;) Hopefully I met your challenge expectations Meredith :) :) More cosmo cricket and the trim is Sweet Vintage again. The heart is a little 'home made' looking...I'd had a few wines by the time I punched and stitched this :)
Last for Saturday night I started this one...after a shower to...ahh clear my head and wake me up a little, and get rid of some milk....despite J's visits over the weekend for feeding she wasn't all that cooperative which left me a sore, leaking mess by Saturday night!
'Sweet Boy' was a quick 8.5 x 11" using more cosmo homegrown. Loving the Jenni Bowlin label stickers, I came home with them in 3 colours :)
Last of all was a layout about Sebastian's current love of 'why?' I think that he takes it to levels well beyond the girls at the same age...mind you Charlotte will pretty much out question any one any time.
I finally got around to using one of the Heidi Swapp resist papers for the background...love love them :) Lots of layered bits, old old MM metal rim tags (prod of myself for using those LOL) and some cute AC flair. I was struggling to find the right letters for this and Sue happened to have the right ones in her stash so we had a little swapsie...she gave me the letters and I gave her some flair buttons for the awesome layout she was working on!
Back in December I found an awesome Dr Suess dictionary (it's actually an english-french one but that doesn't matter). I think it might have cost $4...and it has so many perfect, funny little pictures for scrapbook pages :)
So that's a wrap up of all the scrapping I managed.
I have to add that the 3 classes were awesome too...I booked into all 3 but didn't do any because after finishing off a bunch of deadline stuff I really felt like just kicking back and doing my own thing, however I still learnt plenty by keeping half an eye and ear on what was going on :)
Another thankyou to the E2C girls..it really was the most awesome weekend and I will move mountains to get to the one next year (aka move our trip to the US back a few weeks).
Also a special thankyou to Alison (sorry if I got that wrong, my memory is bad but that's what I remember your name as LOL) Starke (I know that bit is right) for the warm fuzzies....you made me feel so special with your comments and I really really appreciated it :)
So that's it...Sunday afternoon and it was back to reality!
I've been busy scrapping for addicted to craft. Keep your eye on the blog for a feature on Prima stamps...I just got a new heat tool so I've been stamping, embossing and misting up a storm!
