I saw this Layout on Dina's blog a few weeks ago now and wanted to have a try at the masking/glimmermist technique...I tried it out for the 1st Colour Room palette but decided to use the hearts on my layout rather than the masked & misted piece. Here's a peek at those hearts (the layout will be in an upcoming Scrapbook Creations)...
For my second challenge layout I have used the piece of cardstock together with (finally) some more Dear Lizzy product! I have quite a stash of it but have only done 1 layout with it up until now!
I started with the misted cardstock and built my page around it. There are strips of Dear Lizzy PP aboved and below the cardstock and the yellow one with bees as the base...also from the Dear Lizzy range is that glorious flower ribbon, thicker chipboard shapes & word, a lovely flair button, stamps (sweet & sunshine) and couple of remarks labels. I've also snuck in a few sweet vintage doilies and grass green puffy thickers to complete the title!
And some close up of a heart and journalling.
This technique is the easiest thing in the world to do....
Cut or punch (I'm thinking butterflies) some shapes to use as masks (if you cut them from vintage paper they can they be used a embellishments on another layout)
Arrange on a sheet of paper or cardstock (I actually used the reverse of a prima paintable because it is nice and thick and takes mist really well) and spray with mist. I've use 2 colours but use as many or few as you like.
Leave to dry (this is where the heat tool comes in handy AGAIN!)
I have outlined the shapes with black gel pen to give extra definition.

I have a sleeping boy next to me on the couch and a sleeping bubba in her cot...time to do a spot of cleaning or start number 3?
