The Special Two

When we were in America it was kinda funny, despite the fact they were together every single day, all day, Sebastian missed J. 

He suddenly didn't have blocks of time where he had her all to himself, she had the attention of her two big sisters and it was obvious that he felt left out.  so much so that he declared he hated his sisters at one point when we were in New York.  It was around that time that the four year old boy behaviour really started to manifest.

Since we returned home in mid June there has still been an awful lot of tooing and froing between here and Adelaide.  In 2 1/2 months I think that we have spent 3 entire weekends at home as a family.  In truth there is still no end in sight to the lack of quality family at home time on weekends with Steven training and then away for a Mines Rescue competition in the next fortnight followed by the imminent upheaval of packing, cleaning and moving, I know that the time for now until then will just vanish.

More recently Sebastian has been impatient and, at times, quite aggressive towards J. but thankfully despite the constant disruptions Sebastian and J finally seem to be finding their groove again.  On Monday afternoon they disappeared into their bedroom together to play some sort of role play game.

Sebastian was a superhero complete with cape and goggles (unfortunately there is no photo of the complete look).  They played schools for a bit.  S loves writing and I think J is busy telling his what to write, but of course.

J was wearing a pirate jacket, scarf and Sebastian's too small bucket hat.

I was told if I wanted to come in I had to wear this hat.  As much as I was silently wetting myself laughing at the look the pair of them were sporting, my hat took the cake.  Yes, it is one of those Ikea ones with a flower on top.  Gorgeous Darling.

During my visit in their bedroom they were building lego but I was ultimately sent away because I wasn't putting the right colours in the right place.  Sor-ree!

I love the very special relationship that these two have.  They would happily play all sorts of make believe games, all day if things were going well.  The cooperation they show can be pretty astounding, when they are in cahoots and working together they can be a formidable force to be reckoned with.

They do things for each other, If J wants a snack she'll always ask for one for 'Bastian too.  Tonight he got himself a tissue, without being asked he anticipated her got her one too.  Their relationship at its happiest really is such a cool thing to watch.
