Tonight I plan on curling up on the couch with Steven and watching a movie. It's been too long since we've had some movie watching couch time together but it is a favourite thing to do on Friday night. Here are some that I go back to time and again.
This is definitely the movie that ends up on screen more often than any other. I love Reese Witherspoon. I'll pop it in while I'm crafting and just listen. Love the characters. Love the romance. Total chick flick favourite.
Kate Hudson and Matthew Mcconaughey at their very best. They bounce of each other so well in romantic comedy (I like Fool's Gold too). That dog, seriously one of the ugliest animals ever...and a love plant, I mean, seriously! Love it.
I'm not really a massive vampire fan. I did actually try and watch True Blood last night but it didn't really strike a chord with me, perhaps I need to know the background better? I nearly bought the Twilight books so many times before I actually read them. The covers appealed to me but then I picked them up and put them back down, vampires really don't do it for me. Around the time J was born I read them to find out what all the fuss was about and I did enjoy them. I have enjoyed seeing the stories brought to life onscreen too and, bizarrely, this is actually a movie I enjoy watching on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Who doesn't love this movie? My favourite parts are when he is dancing in the parade and the mad dash home at the end. I think we all dream of having had a day off school like that one!
Of all the wonderful animated movies this one is hands down my favourite. I don't know why but I never ever get bored of watching it (which is a good thing because it is a favourite of Sebastian's too).
If pushed I'd say this is my all time favourite movie. I adore it. I love all of the characters, although Kiera Knightly's character is a little painful, but on the whole I do truly love it. It always makes me happy and somehow celebrates that laughter through tears emotion so well.
Romance, good music you can sing along with, a fun story line. What more could a girl want!
I remember the first time I saw this movie. I was flying home from Germany after an exchange trip between year 11 and year 12. It hadn't been released in Australia yet. I'd been asleep for the first hour or so but didn't think I'd missed much. I loved it. It wasn't until months later when I saw the whole movie for the first time that I realised how much I had missed. It has been a firm favourite right from that very first time, probably helped by Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman being two of my favourite actors.
I've never had that huge crush on Jonny Depp, guys with long hair aren't my favourites, but I just love him as Captain Jack.
I'm probably revealing too much but there really is something pretty special about that scene where Tim Curry is decending in the lift. It is such a ridiculous movie but I love it.
So will you be curling up on the couch with a movie tonight? Or is Friday night sport more your thing? What are some of the movies that you love to watch time and again?
Have a fabulous weekend. I'm off to the local market in the morning with Green Dandelion. Hopefully the weather is nice and there are plenty of people out and about.
