Before we set off on our Big Adventure I spent a few fun hours scrapping with the April PDW Kit. The kit is full of product and I loved working with it, I finished 4 pages and I still have plenty of product left for more. It is perfect for scrapping all sorts of things...I delved into my box of older photos for some page inspiration.
(all the layouts seem a little blurry now...sorry, not sure if it is my tired eyes or, more likely, I took slightly dodgy photos)
Let's grow carrots tells the story of how there are days I would love to run away and live an ultra simple life. When I am talking to Steven about it my metaphor is 'growing carrots'.
Swing Monkey Swing features a series of older photos of Lil swinging on the monkey bars at one of our local parks. Those monkey bars have actually been replaced with a new set of equipment now (and it is much higher) and she is even more of a monkey on it than she ever was on this set! She has unbelieveable strength and flexibility...and I am sure that the ultra long toes help too!
Last up there is W3. It seems incredible to look back now and even try to remember when there were only 3 of them. It just doesn't seem possible, they all look so little. One of the things I have really noticed during this trip is how much Sebastian needs time away from the big girls and to have his baby sister all to himself. When the big girls are around they are dominant over him, consequently his behaviour becomes a little more attention seeking and testosterone fuelled.
They had the most massive cuddle in bed before they went to sleep last night, it was beautiful to watch. It is funny that he misses her, even though she is right there near him all the time. The big girls just take up more of her attention than he likes.
A couple of days ago a tweet from Ali Edwards caught my attention
'don't waste your time making pages that don't tell a story that is absolutely meaningful to you'
I think that is totally going to be my mantra when I am scrapbooking from now on because I really couldn't agree more. That is what is right for me.
Back later with an update on our travels in DC!
