Sew - Project Restyle Week 1 & Shoe Boxes of Love

My first 'restyle' especially for Project Restyle is this kiddie tank made from a ladies T. 

I picked up the top from the local oppy for next to nothing (I bought a few with this particular upcycle project in mind)...It took me about 1 1/2 hours all up and more half that time was spent digging around in the dark for an old tank of J's while she slept and then drafting up my pattern using her old, too small one as a guide.

I am going to whip up a few more of these babies tonight and include them in some shoeboxes of love to be sent to QLD.  This has currently been set up in Adelaide but they have contact info for anyone wanting to get involved in other states.

One of the things I was a bit, panic-ey for want of a better word, with regard to the ethical clothing pledge was finding seasonal basics for the kids...you know the cheap T's etc that we usually buy to last the summer or winter...well after this little exercise I am far more confident that it won't be such an issue!!
